Tulsa Business Owners to Participate in USHCC Foundation National Green Builds Business Program
WASHINGTON, Aug. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) Foundation today announced that its national Green Builds Business Program is making its next stop in Tulsa, OK.
The two-day training program, underwritten by Walmart, will coach Tulsa business owners on best practices for lowering operating costs, increasing revenues and motivating workers by incorporating green sustainable efforts into their overall business plans. Green Builds Business will take place on August 25 & 26, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency Tulsa and will be co-hosted by the Greater Tulsa Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GTHCC).
"Tulsa was selected for the USHCC Foundation's Green Builds Business program because of the tremendous opportunity for growth amongst the local Hispanic businesses, and the much needed focus on green programs in the area," says Javier Palomarez, USHCC President and CEO. "This program will provide valuable training and education surrounding successful green business practices which we hope will have an impact not only on the Hispanic Business Enterprises but the entire surrounding community."
The USHCC Foundation will select 20 small businesses from Tulsa to participate in two one-day workshops on best practices for: pricing, marketing and branding that grow green revenues; reducing environmental footprint and operating costs; and motivating work associates with opportunities that help the company and the planet.
"We are offering the tools to build not only a better environment, but also businesses that are more productive and up to date with current trends," says Francisco Trevino, President of the GTHCC. "We are innovative in our programs and services, especially on matters of ecology and sustainable strategies, which is a testament to the success of the USHCC's Green Builds Business program."
At least one business will be selected to receive up to 24 hours of one-on-one green coaching to formulate a green business plan or implement a green project that holds the potential of creating jobs, growing profits and reducing emissions this year. Coaching will be provided by Bill Roth, Green Business Coach for Entrepreneur.com and Founder of Earth 2017.
