ATLANTA, Nov. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Tulix Systems, a leading provider of multi-screen over-the-top (OTT) streaming solutions and CDN services, today announced the deployment of its new TNA streaming architecture, a hybrid system that leverages the unique features of various streaming platforms to provide the highest possible stability, scalability, performance, and responsiveness.

One of the goals in the creation of the TNA streaming architecture was minimizing the "time to first byte," a term commonly used to measure the responsiveness of a server to requests for data. The delay between the request for a stream and its reception by the viewer can be very noticeable, especially on sub-optimal internet connections and across long distances. In testing, streams delivered by the new TNA platform started up to eight times faster than the most commonly used streaming servers alone.
In addition to rapid response times, the TNA architecture boasts an unprecedented level of stability in environments with poor network conditions and at very high loads. Due to its high performance and scalability, Tulix operates all TNA platforms on 10Gbps ports. Combined with its streaming-optimized network, which chooses from multiple tier 1 networks to route streams to the viewer along the best path, the TNA streaming architecture offers the highest level of stability and quality possible.
"After finding that many of the different streaming servers currently on the market experience various issues when subjected to high traffic or when streaming to end users with last mile limitations, we set out to create an HLS-based streaming system that eliminates these problems," said Nino Doijashvili, the company's EVP. "The TNA architecture has shown remarkable improvements over all other streaming servers on the market in our tests, which is why we are making it the core of our HLS streaming."
