BOSTON, Jan. 15, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Tufin®, the market-leading provider of Network Security Policy Orchestration, announced the appointment of Greg McDermott to the position of AVP of U.S. Federal Sales. In this role, Greg will build and execute a strategy for delivering Tufin's solutions to the U.S. federal government. He is based in Virginia and reports to Kevin Maloney, Senior Vice President of Global Sales at Tufin.
"Now more than ever, budget-strapped government agencies are being tasked with safeguarding sensitive data while overseeing the modernization of their networks, which can lead to increased complexity. That makes the U.S. federal marketplace a strategic initiative for us," said Maloney. "Greg's track record includes building sustainable and successful federal sales organizations, as well as developing strategic relationships with Federal System Integrators and supporting missions with the Civilian, DoD, and the Intelligence Community. His experience and leadership will be a welcome addition to Tufin and our expanding roster of federal customers."
Greg has over 25 years of experience, specializing in bringing innovative technologies into the federal market. Greg successfully executed the Federal practice development with multiple companies. Prior to joining Tufin, Greg served as the Director of Federal Operations at Sysdig, where he built the initial Federal Practice to expand their federal business. Prior to that, Greg built the Intelligence Community practice at NetScout Systems. Greg received a degree in Electrical Engineering from the RETS Institute of Technology.
"The U.S. federal government has some of the most complex networks in the world, combined with the urgent need to protect the security and privacy of its information systems and its citizens," said McDermott. "When federal agencies make changes to their network security policy, it's critical that those changes are implemented quickly, efficiently and consistently across the network. The Tufin Orchestration Suite will allow U.S. government agencies to visualize and control network security policy across evolving on-premise and cloud environments without sacrificing agility. Traditionally, government agencies have had to make a tough choice: modernization and performance or security. With Tufin, they don't have to make that choice."
