Tueo Health Oversubscribes Seed Round to Support Clinical Study and Growth

SAN FRANCISCO, July 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Tueo Health, a digital health start-up company that has developed a unique solution for monitoring and managing pediatric asthma, has closed $1.1 million in seed round funding. The seed financing was led by Launchpad Digital Health, with participation from Plug and Play, and other strategic investors.

"Asthma is a costly chronic disease that affects more than 7 million children in the US alone," said Tueo Founder and CEO, Bronwyn Harris, MD.  "Over half of asthma related direct healthcare costs are from hospital-based care that could be avoided by better asthma control."

"With smart inhalers, we can now better measure dosing of drugs, but Tueo provides the critical information necessary on a daily basis to assess how the patient is responding."

Tueo Health has created an integrated solution that combines sensor-based nocturnal monitoring; personalized analytics based on physiologic data; a mobile app that delivers data and provides educational and clinical context; and an asthma coach that assists in self-management. Prompts and guidance are based on guidelines from the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program.

Tueo will use the financing to conduct a clinical study starting in September and drive continued application development and market positioning.
