TubeMogul Appoints New Chief Revenue Officer: Chip Scovic, Formerly of Google
Other executive appointments include Eric Deeds, General Counsel, Daniel Schotland, VP of Operations, and Paul Joachim, promoted to Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer
EMERYVILLE, Calif., June 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- TubeMogul, the worldwide leader in programmatic branding, announced today that Chip Scovic, former head of Google's media platforms business for advertisers and independent agencies, is the company's new Chief Revenue Officer.
Also joining the leadership team are Eric Deeds, the company's new General Counsel, and Daniel Schotland, VP of Operations and Customer Success. In addition, Paul Joachim was promoted to Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer after serving most recently as the company's CRO. In all, the company hired over 75 new employees since the start of 2013 and is poised to more than double headcount by the end of the year.
Chip Scovic brings over a decade of experience working at the intersection of brand advertising and technology. Before TubeMogul, Scovic ran Google's media platforms business for brands and independent agencies. During that time, he built the company's programmatic business. Before Google, Scovic led DoubleClick's marketer and publisher solutions sales teams. He also led sales at Yahoo! Video.
"I have watched TubeMogul's tremendous growth among brand advertisers and their agencies from the sidelines and am excited to now be a part of it," said Scovic. "In an industry still dominated by analog methods for buying and delivering ads, TubeMogul's platform clients are logging in every day and adjusting media strategy based on real-time data – that's virtually unheard of," he commented.
Eric Deeds, General Counsel, joins TubeMogul from his previous position as an attorney at DLA Piper. There, he spent a decade working with a variety of clients from venture capital firms to start-ups, providing general counsel services across the board. Prior to that, Deeds was an analyst at U.S. Trust.
Daniel Schotland, VP of Operations and Customer Success, comes to the team from CheetahMail, where he was VP of Business Development. At TubeMogul, Schotland leads TubeMogul's global ad operations and client service teams.
Paul Joachim, the company's new COO and CFO, first served as TubeMogul's CRO in March 2012. Under his leadership, TubeMogul accelerated revenue growth worldwide. He continues to maintain high standards for his teams and the company as a whole.
"TubeMogul is growing rapidly and we are pleased to have such strong additions to our executive team," said the company's CEO and Co-Founder, Brett Wilson. "Chip, Eric, Daniel and Paul are all excellent leaders and I know I speak for the entire team when I say that I am excited to have their help in furthering the company's position as a leader in digital brand advertising."
All appointments are effective immediately. For more information on these as well as the rest of the executive team, visit Our Team page on the TubeMogul website.
