TSI to Host Symposium During ASMS 2013
Distinguished scholars to present research and discuss findings using innovative technology prior to American Society of Mass Spectrometry conference
SHOREVIEW, Minn., May 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- TSI Incorporated, manufacturer of precision measurement and chemical analysis instrumentation, will host a number of distinguished scholars in an upcoming symposium highlighting an innovative alternative to traditional mass spectrometry techniques prior to the American Society of Mass Spectrometry 61st Annual Conference on June 9, 2013 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
A cross-functional group of academic leaders will present their work using electrospray with Scanning Mobility Particle Sizing (SMPS) technique known as LiquiScan-ES, formerly MarcroIMS, to characterize macromolecules, nanoparticles and proteins in solution. An overview of the technique will be presented and current research using the technology will also be highlighted. Discussions will include the directions to expand use of this technique by improving the usability and resolution for a broad range of applications. Speakers include Dr. Chris Hogan from University of Minnesota, Dr. Wladysla W. Szymanski from the University of Vienna, Dr. Gunter Allmaier from the Vienna University of Technology, Dr. Mike Zachariah from the University of Maryland and NIST, Dr. Robert Blake from Xavier University, and Dr. Peter Kallinger from the Vienna University of Technology.
"This event, highlighting an exciting new technique, is free to attend and open to the public, making it a wonderful opportunity for those interested in alternatives to mass spectrometry to meet with others and find out more," stated Ed Pickens, Global Marketing Manager at TSI.
