Station Extends Partnership Between Companies
HARTLAND, Wis., Oct. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- TruStar Energy, one of the nation's leading developers of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fueling stations, announced the opening of a new large, time-fill fueling station designed and built for Advanced Disposal in Hartland, Wisconsin. TruStar Energy and Advanced Disposal have partnered on 11 stations nationwide.
"We are on track to meet our goal to increase our CNG fleet to 15 percent by the end of 2015," said Advanced Disposal CEO Richard Burke. "Our commitment to CNG is a significant one that we've made to keep our fleet running cleaner and to creating a more sustainable planet for future generations. This cleaner fuel source lowers our company's carbon footprint, reduces costs of operations and ultimately helps us achieve our goals of being good stewards of the environment while enhancing stakeholder returns."
Currently 11 of the company's trucks will refuel at the station every night. This will help keep the greater Waukesha County community cleaner and quieter, since natural gas engines have an average of 80 to 90 percent lower decibel levels than diesel engines. As the diesel trucks in Advanced Disposal's fleet reach the end of their useful life, the company will replace many with the cleaner, quieter CNG-fueled trucks. The company expects to have as many as 58 CNG-fueled trucks in their fleet to serve the community over the next several years.
"Like Advanced Disposal, private and municipal refuse haulers are increasingly turning to CNG, because the ROI and the environmental benefits of this cleaner, domestically-produced fuel make sense for the bottom line and for their sustainability goals," said Scott Edelbach, General Manager of TruStar Energy. "We applaud Advanced Disposal's environmental commitment and look forward to working with them in close partnership to meet their future CNG fueling needs."
The TruStar Energy-built station is located at Advanced Disposal's hauling facility at 559 Progress Drive. The time-fill station consists of two 200 horsepower compressors with fueling hoses to fuel 58 trucks.
"Waste disposal and environmental service fleets are critical to the well-being of our neighborhoods. By using alternative fuels such as compressed natural gas, these fleets reduce their overall petroleum consumption and reduce tailpipe emissions," said Lorrie Lisek, Executive Director of Wisconsin Clean Cities Coalition. "We appreciate Advanced Disposal and TruStar Energy's investment in Wisconsin's CNG fueling infrastructure and recognize them for their contribution toward creating a clean fuel future for our state."
