DURHAM, N.C., Feb. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Truphone said today it has taken on larger office space for its United States headquarters in the Research Triangle Park region. The new office in Imperial Center is part of a continued expansion of operations throughout the U.S. over the past year.

The new 7,000 square foot office in Winchester Place at 4309 Emperor Blvd. is the base of operations for executive management of Truphone Americas and also serves as a new regional sales hub for the southeastern U.S. The southeastern location is the fourth regional sales office Truphone has opened in recent months, following New York, Houston and San Francisco.
In all, Truphone anticipates having close to 100 employees in the US by the end of 2014, with an estimated 40 based here.
"Truphone's history of innovation and unmatched patented technology in mobile communications makes the RTP area a perfect place for a company with our heritage. We're proud to be surrounded by like-minded technology leaders," said Tim Raby, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Truphone Americas. "Truphone makes the world smaller for businesses that need to communicate globally. We're the first mobile operator that built a seamless mobile network without country borders, giving our customers local mobile communications in a growing number of countries. Truphone was truly built for global business."
"Our move to larger office space is in line with our growth plans, as we see mobility and the need to stay connected easily and affordably as key IT strategic priorities for today's global companies," Raby added.
Truphone's patented technology lets users have multiple international numbers on a single SIM card, making them local in seven countries and Hong Kong called the Truphone Zone. In those countries – the U.S., U.K., Australia, Hong Kong, Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Spain - all calls, texts and downloads are treated as local and are charged at local rates. Outside the Zone, users still experience seamless communication because the Truphone network routes calls to the nearest Truphone country, improving call quality at lower rates.
The company declared its commitment to RTP in 2012 when it first occupied offices at Imperial Center. Truphone obtained its new RTP space in a lease arrangement with TriProperties, Inc.
Truphone's research and engineering center is attached to the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, N.J., and its U.S. operations center is in Cleveland.
