DURHAM, N.C., April 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Truphone, the mobile operator "Built for Global Business," has expanded its Truphone Zone to include Germany, Poland and Spain. Companies doing business in the Truphone Zone – which also includes the U.S., United Kingdom, Australia, Hong Kong and the Netherlands – will benefit with local rates for international mobile calls, texts and data services within the Zone. The expansion also means Truphone customers now have the option of up to eight international phone numbers on the same mobile device, all tied together with unified voicemail and SMS services.
"Having multiple country numbers on your smartphone means that your international contacts can call and text a mobile number that is local to them," shared Pascal de Hesselle, vice president of marketing for Truphone Americas. "As a result, business customers can stay closer to their international colleagues, clients and partners."
Truphone service is also available in more than 200 countries worldwide, offering the highest quality mobile connections at rates far more affordable than those offered by larger rivals.
Additionally, Truphone launched a new international data plan today as part of a 60-day promotion. The "Switch On International Data" program reduces the price of a global data SIM with 1 Gigabyte of international data by 50 percent to $15 per month, for use within the Truphone Zone.
According to Gartner analysts, business mobile service use continues to rise, with estimates on the average annual spend for data, voice and messaging eclipsing $800 per user per year – tallying nearly $1 million annually in costs for enterprise companies with over 1,000 employees. Furthermore, the research firm said the growth in use of smartphones and tablets during international travel is a major expense concern for its clients.
Truphone expects the new data plans to appeal to the millions of iPad and Android tablet users who can insert its global data SIM card into their unlocked devices to use them or turn them into portable hotspots when connecting internationally. Truphone also offers users the option of purchasing a Mi-Fi device for $49. These devices also act as portable hotspots, allowing PCs, smartphones and tablets connection to Truphone data in each country.
"The continued growth in using mobile services, especially data, to stay connected shouldn't end at a country's border," said de Hesselle. "Our mobile phone and data plans remove the fear and complexity that international wireless use triggers, and keeps the global business person productive on the go."
