True Value Donates More Than $400,000 In Merchandise To Dallas Area Habitat For Humanity ReStores

DALLAS, March 5, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- True Value Company, in partnership with its vendors, donated more than $400,000 worth of merchandise to Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity, following its semi-annual Reunion trade show held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center on Feb. 21-24.

More than 100 volunteers from Dallas Habitat and True Value Company spent three days collecting, sorting and packing 16 semi-truckloads of donated products that were showcased at True Value's Spring Reunion trade show.

The massive donation, from over 200 vendors, will be used to stock Dallas Habitat's four ReStore locations across DFW. ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell furniture, home appliances, building materials and more at significantly reduced prices. All profits support Habitat for Humanity's home ownership, renovation and repair programs.

"We believe everyone in our community should have access to a stable and safe home," said Cory Hohweiler, VP of Retail for Dallas Habitat. "Thanks to the generosity of True Value and its vendors, we are now able to ensure more families are able to achieve the dream of homeownership."

True Value has been an avid supporter of Habitat for Humanity for several decades. In the past three years alone, it has donated more than $2.6 million to Habitat for Humanity branches in Anaheim, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston and Washington D.C.
