Trudi L. Brown, Q.C., is recognized by Continental Who's Who
VICTORIA, British Columbia, Sept. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Trudi L. Brown, Q.C., is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in recognition of her contributions to the Legal field.
Brown's professional title is Founding Partner and Lawyer at the Brown Henderson Melbye Law Firm. She brings over 30 years of career experience, as well as expertise in family law, arbitration and meditation, to her role.
As a result of her outstanding work in her role, Brown was one of the first lawyers in Victoria to embrace collaborative law. She is a regularly sought-after speaker, presenter and Master of Ceremonies of various programs in the legal profession and community. "My goal is to be firmly wedded to the concept of resolving family law disputes without going to trial," Brown said.
In addition to her work in practice, Brown is a regular editor of law reviews, including British Columbia Family Law Practice.
Brown graduated from Prince Wales Secondary School prior to enrolling in university. She then earned her Bachelor's of Law and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of British Columbia. She became a member of the British Columbia Bar in 1974, and served the British Columbia Crown Council for the next four years.
To further her professional development, Brown is a member of the International Academy of Family Lawyers, the Canadian Bar Association, the British Columbia 'Hear the Child' Society, the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, and serves as the Co-Chair of the National Family Law Program.
In recognition of her outstanding accomplishments in the field, Brown has been honored by the Queen's Counsel; has been recognized by the Victoria YMCA through Women of Distinction in 1997, Best Lawyers in Canada; and the Leadership Victoria Award, as well as an Alumni Award from UBC Law School. Additionally, she is AV Rated with Martindale-Hubbell®, Life Bencher of the Law Society of British Columbia, and served as their Treasurer (President) in 1998.
When not working in her role at the firm, Brown serves as a Board Member at BCLC, and acts in the capacity of the Chair of Human Resources. She also serves on the Board of the Foundation for the Victoria Symphony.
