Troy Paredes Joins CamberView Partners as Senior Advisor

Paredes, a former Commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and founder of Paredes Strategies LLC, has joined the firm as a Senior Advisor.

Mr. Paredes is the founder of Paredes Strategies LLC, a firm that advises companies on financial regulation, corporate governance, compliance and governmental and regulatory affairs.  He also serves as an expert and advisor in government investigations and in litigation involving securities and corporate law.

From 2008 – 2013, Mr. Paredes served as a Commissioner of the SEC, having been appointed by President George W. Bush.  At the SEC, he was a strong advocate for small business, the promotion of capital formation, solving the information overload problem and rigorous cost-benefit analysis.

Prior to his service in government, Mr. Paredes was a Professor of Law at Washington University in St. Louis, joining the faculty after having worked as a corporate lawyer.  Currently, he is a Distinguished Scholar in Residence at NYU School of Law and a Lecturer of Law at Harvard Law School.  He also has served as a Distinguished Policy Fellow and Lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Mr. Paredes serves on the board of directors of Electronifie Inc. and is a member of the board of advisors of StreetShares, Inc.  He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and earned his J.D. from Yale Law School.
