Troy-Bilt® Redesigns Squall™ Single-Stage Snow Throwers, Adds New Features For Easier Snow Clearing
CLEVELAND, Nov. 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Troy-Bilt® introduces a new, stylish body design with unique features to four of its SquallTM single-stage snow throwers, 123R, 179E, 208E and 208 XP™, giving users more control to clear snow with ease. Revamped, based on customer insights, all models now sport large 8-inch by 2-inch wheels with a deep-tread design to give users more traction on slippery surfaces; they have a 21-inch clearing width.
Best used for clearing snowfall 3 to 6 inches deep, the snow throwers' new lightweight, compact body design makes them easier to maneuver while taking up less space. The models require 6 feet of storage space when the handles are in standard operating position and only 3 feet when handles are folded down for off-season storing. Troy-Bilt also added a durable new ergo handle design for more control and strength to its Squall single-stage 208E and XP models.
"The redesigned Squall single-stage models give customers exactly what they want to make snow clearing simple and enjoyable," said Troy-Bilt brand director Megan Peth. "We spent countless hours in the lab incorporating direct customer feedback into the manufacturing and design process – so the product won't let you down on the driveway. The result is a more balanced, rugged tool with unique new features, making it easier than ever before to carve through snow."
The Squall models all come equipped with a 4-cycle OHV Troy-Bilt engine, eliminating the need to mix oil and gas, and EZ-Chute™ manual pitch control that easily adjusts the direction of snow discharge up to 190 degrees. All models except the 123R snow thrower have push button electric start to eliminate pulling a starter rope. The 208 XP model even features dual LED headlights for added visibility in low-light conditions.
The redesigned Squall models are all engineered with auger paddles that pull snow into the unit, and propel it up and out of the chute in one, single-stage motion. Because of the auger paddle design, single-stage snow throwers wipe the ground clean, leaving very little snow behind.
The redesigned single-stage snow throwers retail from $359 to $599.99. They are supported by a 2- or 3-year limited warranty, depending on model. The 123R, 179E, 208E and 208 XP models are available at troybilt.com, Lowe's® or lowes.com. For more information, visit troybilt.com.
