CLEVELAND, May 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Just in time for planting season, Troy-Bilt® introduced a brand new line of garden tools. From pruners to loppers to weed removers, the products were designed to blend function with ergonomic design and make experiences in the yard easier and more enjoyable.
Each garden tool features German-engineered blades, several comfort features and an innovative cutting design. The lineup includes anvil and bypass pruners and loppers, a folding hand saw, planting trowels, a rake and a weed remover. Additional tools will be released later this year.
"Our hand tools were created with great care to be durable, have a long life, provide an easy cut and be easy on joints, hands and arms," said Megan Peth, brand marketing director, Troy-Bilt. "We have something for everyone with our Comfort Max series for frequent pruning, Comfort Plus series for larger gardens and Comfort Classic series for use in front and back gardens."
To help plan your gardening to-do's this year, Troy-Bilt offers the following seasonal cutting tips:
Spring and summer garden tips:
- Prune and remove winter-damaged foliage in early spring
- Prune and shape trees and early-flowering shrubs and plants after flowering
- Remove tree limbs and stems of bushes and shrubs to prevent overcrowding and promote growth
- Cut back rose bushes after they have bloomed
- Shape hedges and bushes to contain size and promote new growth
- With fingertips, remove faded flowers on plants
Fall and winter garden tips:
- Cut back branches and stems in the fall while there are fewer fungal spores in the air to reduce risk of infestation
- Cut and prune while there is no frost to prevent damage to stems and limbs
- Don't prune or cut stems, bushes or tree limbs during the winter months as cutting frozen branches can splinter and cause damage
- Only remove hazardous tree limbs in the winter when they have fallen or broken off due to storm damage or weight of snow
Troy-Bilt hand tools can be purchased at select retailers and on troybilt.com.
