LONDON, June 1, 2010 /PRNewswire/ --
- Company Strengthens Commitment to Hospitality Industry
TripAdvisor(R), the world's most popular and largest travel community, has expanded its new B2B division further with the appointment of Karen Plumb, in the newly created role of Commercial Director EMEA for Business Listings.
Plumb will lead the Business Listings commercial team within the new TripAdvisor for Business division, and will be responsible for further positioning Business Listings as an essential channel for the EMEA hospitality industry to connect directly with the global travelling population.
The role will involve leading sales, marketing and product enhancement campaigns aimed at hoteliers, B&Bs and other accommodation providers throughout the region, with Plumb based within TripAdvisor's European headquarters in London.
Plumb has a wealth of B2B experience having worked in the hotel industry at both Inter-Continental Hotels and Thistle Hotels before moving into the online media environment at Cheapflights. Most recently Plumb was at Pegasus Solutions where she was responsible for hotel and eMarketing for Utell Hotels & Resorts.
"The initial response to our Business Listings service has been extremely encouraging," commented Nathan Clapton, vice president of partnerships for TripAdvisor. "Karen's arrival and the wealth of experience she brings will significantly strengthen our B2B efforts and dramatically change the way the tourism industry markets to travellers."
Business Listings, which launched in January 2010, allows hoteliers to connect directly to millions of researching travellers, converting potential customers to paying guests. Hoteliers, innkeepers and B&B owners can sign up for TripAdvisor Business Listings at http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/businesslistings.
