LOS ANGELES, April 28, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Matthew Crouch, Vice President of the Trinity Broadcasting Network, is asking believers around the world to intercede on behalf of the millions of people and families who have been impacted by the earthquake that hit Nepal on Saturday, April 27th. "We are now getting a clear picture of the incredible devastation that has torn through this region," said Mr. Crouch. "With thousands dead, thousands more injured, and hundreds of thousands left homeless and without food, water, and other necessities, it is clear that the people of Nepal need our fervent prayer, as well as our helping hand at this hour."

Continued Mr. Crouch: "We are calling for God's people to intercede on behalf of the individuals, families, and communities who are suffering in the region right now. In addition, we must pray for the organizations that are responding with compassion, asking that God would speed their help and healing to the areas where it is needed most, and that He would prompt others around the world to reach out with finances and needed resources at this crucial time."
He noted that as with past natural disasters, TBN is partnering with Samaritan's Purse, a humanitarian group headed by Franklin Graham which has a disaster response team and medical personnel on the ground in Katmandu, Nepal. Samaritan's Purse has dispatched an initial airlift of 60 tons of relief supplies to the area, including temporary shelter, water, hygiene kits, and other supplies. Immediately following news of the earthquake, TBN forwarded a check for $100,000 to Samaritan's Purse to help with the group's emergency outreach.
"Please prayerfully consider what God would have you do to help relieve the suffering and pain of the countless individuals ravaged by this disaster," said Mr. Crouch. "We are called to be the healing hands of our Savior to those in need, wherever we find them. Let's bless the Lord with our response to this crisis."
