The winner of numerous media awards, including "Best Documentary" at the 2013 International Christian Film Festival, Hope for Hurting Hearts explores the issues of pain, heartache, and tragedy that everyone — including Christians — face at some time in life, showing how even in our deepest despair God is present, weeping with us, comforting us, and guiding our lives and futures.
Narrated by noted author and family expert Dr. James Dobson, Hope for Hurting Hearts tells three intimate and heartfelt stories of individuals who have faced enormous heartache and tragedy: Dove Award-winning Christian musician Jeremy Camp, who lost his first wife, Melissa, to cancer; Nick Vujicic, a well-known inspirational speaker born without arms and legs; and Greg Laurie and his wife Cathe, who in 2008 experienced incredible heartbreak with the unexpected death of their oldest son, Christopher.
With a deep sensitivity for those who are facing similar tragedy, Hope for Hurting Hearts shows how each of these individuals stood at a spiritual crossroads marked by challenging and painful circumstances, and how each ultimately chose the road of trust and surrender to God.
Reflecting on the pain and loss faced by each individual featured in the film, Greg Laurie said that "the good news is we know a God who loves us, a God who is in control, a God who can cause all things to work together for good — a God who can bring beauty out of ashes and joy out of mourning."
Added Pastor Greg: "That is what this film is about. We are telling three stories of how God came to us and made Himself real and sustained us, and now hopefully through us He will bring hope to others."
Check out the trailer for Hope for Hurting Hearts, and tune in to TBN's Praise the Lord show Tuesday September 23rd at 7 p.m. Pacific (9 p.m. Central, 10 p.m. Eastern) as hosts Matthew and Laurie Crouch welcome Pastor Greg Laurie, along with his wife Cathe and son Jonathan, followed by the airing of this powerful, life-changing documentary.
