Trimble to Support National Safety Month with Driver Safety Webinar
SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Driver safety is a key concern for any business with employees on the road. To help reduce crashes in the area of field service management, Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) is supporting the National Safety Council (NSC) during Driver Safety week of National Safety Month, June 24-30, in raising awareness of unsafe driving behavior.
"While safety is important year-round, June is when we can come together to encourage safe behaviors around preventing injuries and deaths," said Janet Froetscher, National Safety Council president and CEO. "This includes driving safety as car crashes remain the leading cause of unintentional deaths in the workplace."
According to the NSC, a workplace crash can cost an employer more than $24,000, and more than $125,000 if there's an injury. By implementing a driver safety program, organizations can lower the risk of these incidents and help protect its human and financial resources.
To better educate industry professionals on reducing road risk in the workplace, Trimble will be offering a free webinar entitled "Creating a Safe Driving Culture" on Thursday, June 28, at 11 a.m. PDT/ 2 p.m. EDT. The webinar will cover how to implement a safe driving program, how to mitigate risk and help control insurance costs and what technology is available to manage driver behavior.
