Trimble Releases Next Generation Enterprise Forestry Management Solution
SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced today the release of its next generation Enterprise Forest Management™ software solution. The new "converged solution" combines the functionality of three software applications—TheForestManager (TFM), Planner and Resources—into a single, powerful operational platform for managing land, forest and fibre resources.
Trimble's Enterprise Forest Management software provides a robust platform for managing asset inventory as well as creating and evaluating strategic and operational plans for short and long-term planning windows. The software allows decision makers to identify which actions need to happen and where they need to happen. The software also allows managers to schedule activities, plan and manage budgets and allocate resources. Maps and related spatial data are integrated with plans, providing a thorough perspective on land-based activities and costs.
The new solution features major improvements over previous versions, such as a new sophisticated data integration framework, choice of form creation capability to unlock better ways to manage data as well as a powerful multi-platform business intelligence tool. Other enhancements include a next generation report manager, map management and printing functionality that include map layout views and dynamic content along with a choice of methods to store and reference important business documents within the database. The enterprise solution supports the integration of spatial capabilities using Esri technology, allowing customers to significantly improve business processes.
"Trimble's Enterprise Forest Management software is the centerpiece of our Connected Forest vision. Launching this next generation software with a range of new exciting capabilities, including seamless mobile solutions via the integration framework, allows us to deliver the most efficient business-focused forestry solution to the industry," said Ken Moen, general manager of Trimble's Forestry Division.
Trimble's Connected Forest enables better decision-making at every step of the forest to mill process, from land acquisition through product delivery, by combining industry-specialized software and state-of-the-art hardware into solutions for land, forest and fibre management. As part of the Connected Forest, Trimble's Enterprise Forest Management software can help organizations analyze options and priorities, optimally allocate resources, track progress and roll the information up to a management level.
