NEW YORK, Dec. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Trilogy Education, a leading workforce accelerator, today announced the appointment of Dr. Judith Rodin to its board of directors, effective immediately. As the first woman named to permanently lead an Ivy League institution as well as the first woman to serve as the Rockefeller Foundation's president, Dr. Rodin has been a trailblazing executive throughout her career. As a member of the board, Dr. Rodin will advise Trilogy's executive team on the next phase of growth as the company scales its industry-leading technology training platform and programs to support learners, universities, and enterprise organizations worldwide.
"The foundation of my career has been built on the belief that educational opportunities can transform not only individual lives, but also whole communities," said Dr. Judith Rodin. "Trilogy Education is putting this powerful idea into practice by uniting key institutional players, city by city, to reskill the workforce of the future. Through their university partnerships, they're driving outsized regional economic impact, breaking down barriers to digital skills training, and enabling thousands of diverse adult learners to pursue tech careers in the 21st century economy. I'm excited to help Trilogy's visionary team accelerate its already impressive double bottom line impact as the newest member of its board."
As President of the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Rodin architected a decade of unprecedented growth and progress that transformed both the institution and the surrounding Philadelphia community. Additionally, Dr. Rodin led the Rockefeller Foundation on a new era of strategic philanthropy, emphasizing collaboration between business, government, and the philanthropic community to tackle some of the most pressing global issues. During her presidency, she helped launch the new field of impact investing, championing the ability of purpose-driven companies to drive both financial returns and social change. She has served as a board member for several leading corporations including Aetna, Citigroup, Laureate Education, Inc. and Comcast NBCUniversal, and has been named to the Forbes' 100 Most Powerful Women and Crain's Most Powerful Women in New York lists.
"Judith is a transformational leader in higher education and a reformer who understands the unique responsibility universities have to create stronger workforces, more resilient cities, and brighter paths to opportunity. She knows how to break down silos to realize tremendous outcomes, and at a human level, cares deeply about making a difference in people's lives. We feel tremendously fortunate to have her guidance on our journey ahead," said Dan Sommer, CEO and Founder of Trilogy Education.
