NEW YORK, Oct. 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Trilogy Education, a leading workforce accelerator, today announced the acquisition of two startups: Firehose Project, an immersive online coding platform, and JobTrack, a career services platform. With these acquisitions, Trilogy Education will empower its university partners to bring intensive tech training programs to thousands of additional learners online and further support program graduates in finding fulfilling work in the digital economy.
The acquisition of Firehose Project will fuel the addition of a new, self-paced online learning format to Trilogy Education's existing portfolio of in-person and live online programs, offered in partnership with over 40 leading universities globally.
Firehose's signature approach to online coding instruction centers on on-demand access, data-driven feedback loops, and expert mentorship, enabling one-on-one support to maximize engagement and outcomes. Firehose's advanced technology and mentor network will be integrated into Trilogy Education's best-in-class platform, curricula, and student services to further expand access to technical education for the millions of working adults who require more flexible learning schedules. Trilogy's new, self-paced online coding program will be rolling out to university partners in early 2019.
Building on Trilogy Education's data-driven approach to creating powerful learning experiences, the company has also acquired JobTrack, a platform that streamlines and accelerates the job search process, enabling users to quickly and easily manage applications and interviews. Simultaneously, JobTrack provides career advisors with powerful data and analytics to enrich their one-on-one coaching sessions, optimize their overall advising efforts, and deepen employer relationships. JobTrack's technology will be incorporated into Trilogy Education's existing platform and will be accessible to thousands of students enrolled in Trilogy-powered programs beginning in early 2019.
"We are working to develop world-class learning solutions that enable people to build meaningful careers in the digital economy, and ultimately, transform their lives," said Dan Sommer, Trilogy Education CEO and Founder. "Welcoming The Firehose Project and JobTrack to the Trilogy family will help us achieve this important mission, as we enter our next phase of growth and broaden our reach by leveraging unrivaled online delivery models, data-driven insights, and advanced technology."
"From the moment Firehose and Trilogy started talking it was very clear that we share the same vision of closing the digital skills gap and putting students first. I'm excited to join forces and help even more people transform their lives and be ready for today's job market and the digital future," said Marco Morawec, co-founder of Firehose Project. "Our data driven approach to online learning has led to some of the highest engagement and student satisfaction rates in the industry, and we look forward to working closely with the Trilogy team to create cutting-edge online programs that leverage Firehose's unique technology."
"Like Trilogy Education, JobTrack is all about helping students achieve great career outcomes. We're excited to inject our powerful technology and data-driven insights into the job search process for students in Trilogy-powered programs around the globe," said Adam Bedford, founder of JobTrack.
Firehose Project's co-founders, Marco Morawec and Ken Mazaika, will join the Trilogy team as Senior Director of Product Management and Director of Engineering respectively. The full Firehose Project team will also join Trilogy in marketing, engineering and admissions roles. JobTrack's founder, Adam Bedford, will join the Trilogy team as Senior Director of Product.
