Trilliant Expands Executive Team with Salim Khan from ABB

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., May 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Trilliant, a Smart Grid communications leader in delivering solutions that enhance energy efficiency, utility operations and renewable resource integration, today announced that energy technology veteran Salim Khan joined the company as Chief Operating Officer.

Salim has been driving technology innovations for more than 25 years in the global electric power industry.  He joins Trilliant from ABB where he was senior vice president and general manager of ABB's Network Management business in North America and a key architect of ABB's Smart Grid strategy. Salim was responsible for energy and market management software and systems, including distribution automation for electric utilities.   He oversaw several ABB investments in Smart Grid companies, including ABB Technology Ventures' 2010 investment in Trilliant.

Prior to ABB, Salim held senior executive positions at Landis+Gyr, Systems Control, Inc. (acquired by British Petroleum) and a venture-backed enterprise software start-up company in Silicon Valley. Salim's vast management experience, strong understanding of the global utility market and deep expertise in Smart Grid business development are optimally suited to further accelerate profitable growth at Trilliant and best serve the needs of its growing list of global utility customers. As COO, Salim will manage day-to-day operations at Trilliant.
