Linda Schaible Named SVP/Product Development and Operations; Shawn Gannon Becomes VP/Product Development
CHICAGO, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Tribune Interactive today announced the promotions of Linda Schaible to senior vice president/product development and operations, and Shawn Gannon to vice president/product development.
"Nurturing, innovating and promoting our online products is a vital component of the company's future," said Marc Chase. "Linda and Shawn are a great team to lead this effort and have proven their capabilities."
Schaible has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility during her career at Tribune, serving most recently as vice president/product development. In her new role, Schaible will oversee the company's digital and mobile product portfolios, as well as potential partnerships to enhance the company's offerings, and ensure its capabilities and ideas drive toward its growth efforts. She will also bring to market opportunities associated with the company's digital products, core infrastructure elements and knowledge assets.
"I'm excited about the opportunity to play a greater part in a company poised to be the change agent in the media industry," said Schaible. "This is a once-in-a-career opportunity to watch our business and the old business models morph into a compelling, relevant and vibrant new industry. Where else would I be?!"
Prior to leading product development efforts at Tribune, Schaible was vice president/local digital sales innovation for Tribune Interactive and directed marketing for the Orlando Sentinel. Before joining Tribune, she owned and operated a market research firm and held marketing positions with Emerson Electric and A.C. Nielsen.
In his most recent role at Tribune, Gannon was director/product development. This promotion gives him the day to day oversight of the product development group in which he will handle all infrastructure and new product development. He will be responsible for combing user insights, market and industry trends and the company's strategic goals into a product line that supports its current and future audience growth and sales efforts.
"I'm excited about the opportunities and challenges before Tribune Interactive," said Gannon. "We have a strong group in place to lead the digital and mobile charge towards innovative offerings and services not only to our current partners and users, but also to new businesses and audiences."
Gannon has extensive experience in sales and marketing in the media and entertainment industry. Prior to joining Tribune, he spent a year as vice president/sales and chief marketing officer for Simage, LLC, and eight years with Playboy Entertainment, Inc. in leadership roles including vice president/key account marketing.
