BUFFALO, N.Y., Dec. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Circuit Clinical™ is proud to announce the successful development and launch of TrialScout™ - www.trialscout.com - a novel online platform designed to improve the experience of finding and participating in clinical trials. TrialScout's advancement was supported in part by a $200,000 matching grant awarded by University at Buffalo's Center for Advanced Technology (UB CAT) to the private-university collaboration of Circuit Clinical and principal investigator Dr. Manoj J. Mammen, Assistant Professor of Medicine of the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biological Sciences at UB.
"The patient experience data generated by TrialScout will deliver new insights and potentially improve both engagement and retention – both of which are critical challenges in clinical research today," stated Dr. Mammen.
"We are truly honored to have been awarded our UB CAT grant and excited to have successfully delivered a platform that our patients, research centers and partners in industry have all embraced from day one," said Dr. Irfan Khan, CEO of Circuit Clinical. "TrialScout was born from the challenges that we have experienced first-hand in clinical research. Our goal was to simplify the process of finding clinical trials and provide patients the peer-to-peer support they need. Our close collaboration with UB remains a major asset in our ability to create a great solution for patients, research centers, and industry partners everywhere."
"Circuit Clinical has done a great job in using the support it received from UB CAT to address an important problem in clinical research – identifying and promoting the patient's voice in the process," said Norma J. Nowak, PhD, executive director of UB's NYS Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences.
TrialScout's proprietary algorithm gathers data from multiple publicly available datasets to offer insights on overall research center quality. It captures participant ratings and reviews directly from those who've partaken in clinical trials at particular research centers and want to share their experience.
