Trial Begins In Wrongful Death Action Of Dr. Stanley Phillips, III, Killed While A Passenger In Meriter Hospital's Ambulance
MADISON, Wis., Dec. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- On Monday, December 5, 2016, the wrongful death lawsuit against Meriter Hospital's insurer will go to trial as a result of the death of Dr. Stanley Thomas Phillips, III, age 32, of Madison, Wisconsin. Dr. Phillips, a first year pediatric fellow and who had just started at UW Hospital on July 1, 2013, died on July 11, 2013, from injuries he suffered when the ambulance he was a passenger in veered off the side of the road and flipped on its side on July 10, 2013.
The wrongful death lawsuit will be tried before Dane Circuit Court County Judge Richard G. Niess, at the Dane County Courthouse, Courtroom 5D - Branch 9.
Dr. Phillips' parents and Estate assert that the negligence of Meriter's security guard in driving the ambulance resulted in Dr. Phillips' conscious pain and suffering, medical and funeral expenses, loss of society and companionship, and loss of support.
