Tres Townsend is recognized by Continental Who's Who

FLOWOOD, Miss., Aug. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Tres Townsend is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Non-Profit Management. Tres is an Executive Director with the Epilepsy Foundation of Mississippi.

The only state organization designed to assist individuals with seizure disorders, the Epilepsy Foundation of Mississippi leads the fight to find a cure, stop seizures and help overcome the daily challenges people with epilepsy face.

In the industry for over two decades, Tres has been in her current capacity for the past five years where she specializes in community development and outreach, fundraising, program development, planning and organizational management. As Executive Director, Tres handles all accounting matters, facilitating support groups and spreading awareness to the uneducated.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Mississippi was the first affiliate to offer a free summer camp to children with epilepsy over 20 years ago and today that is still the strongest program they offer.  This one week of the year is what keeps me pushing so hard funding.  It keeps me going says Tres.  Its one week out of the year these kids get to do things and not worry about being bullied, embarrassed because they had a seizure or told they can't do something.  To them, they are all family and equal.  Tres is gearing up for this year's camp which will be held the first week of June.  It costs about $600 per child to send them to this camp and their goal is to be able to send 50 children from Mississippi to the Alvin P. Flannes Summer Camp.

A member of the National Epilepsy Foundation of America and National Association of Professional Women, Tres was recognized as an NAPW VIP Woman of The Year for her successes. Charitably, she maintains affiliation with the Junior League of Jackson, Parkinson's Association and Leukemia/Lymphoma Association.

Tres graduated from Belhaven University with her Bachelor's degree in Business Management.
