Agenda Features Top-tier Line-up of Industry Experts in Display and Touch Technology Markets
CAMPBELL, Calif., April 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Society for Information Display (SID), together with investment banking firm Cowen and Company, unveiled the agenda for its 8th Annual Display Investors Conference during Display Week, which will be held June 3-8, 2012 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. This year's Investors Conference, "Trend Spotting in the Display Technology Ecosystem," boasts a notable lineup of public and private display technology and supply chain companies. Speakers and attendees will explore a number of innovations; identify emerging trends and opportunities in the display market; and have a look at some of the hottest opportunities in electronic displays. The Investors Conference will run for the full day, Tuesday, June 5—beginning immediately after the Display Week keynote presentations.
The Investors Conference, founded by SID and Cowen, is aimed at providing education and networking opportunities for securities analysts, public and private investors, M&A specialists and display company executives. The conference has emerged as a 'must-attend' event, enabling companies to highlight their newest innovations and, in many cases, to feature them in Display Week's exhibit hall. This year's agenda will highlight major trends in the industry focusing on emerging areas such as OLED displays, advanced materials, pico-projection, haptics and other high-profile technologies and applications. Featured speakers will address a variety of issues and topics, including:
- Innovations Beyond the CE Space – Changing the Status Quo in Established Markets
- Evolution of Touch and the Immersive Experience
- From Emerging Technology to Market Adoption – Paths to Commercial Success
- Building a Better Display and Impacting the Display Industry in the Next Decade
The event will kick off with Display Week's conference-wide keynote sessions from senior executives of LG Display and Samsung Electronics, as well as distinguished MIT faculty. Subsequent presentations at the Investors Conference will feature experts from leading organizations including Prysm, Altierre Digital, Kopin, Senseg, Neonode, Perceptive Pixel, Universal Display Corporation and E Ink Holdings. The afternoon session will include executives from Nanosys, CBRITE, Plextronics, Nanoco, Microvision, QD Vision and Pixel Qi, with a goal of generating interactive discussions and Q&A sessions between speakers and the audience.
The Investors Conference itself will feature a luncheon keynote from Dr. Peter Bocko, CTO of Corning Glass Technologies, entitled "Evolutionary and Disruptive Changes from the Glass Industry's Perspective." The day will end with a closing keynote, details for which will be released along with the final conference agenda as the event date approaches.
"Display Week is, hands-down, the premier forum for introducing the latest and best advances in the display technology market," said SID President, Dr. Munisamy Anandan. "Co-producing the Investors Conference with a high-caliber firm such as Cowen is a natural extension of Display Week, which aims to provide both attendees and sponsors with a true value-add and a unique perspective on the market implications of new and burgeoning trends on the horizon. It also provides an exclusive opportunity to showcase the potential for licensing, selling and funding display technology. Simply stated, it's the place to be for companies that are eager to tap into the immense potential of the display market."
"For eight years, the Investors Conference has offered a unique and complimentary perspective on the innovations on show at Display Week," said Josh Epstein, who leads Cowen's focus on digital media and emerging technologies. "By offering insights into the market opportunities surrounding display technology and highlighting the key trends driving the industry, the Investors Conference creates a synergistic opportunity for attendees who wish to go a step further and look for investment opportunities in the new capabilities, components and innovations they've discovered at Display Week."
The final agenda and additional details about the Investors Conference will be made available at www.displayweek.org. The Investors Conference includes a continental breakfast, lunch, refreshments, an evening networking reception, access to both the Exhibit Hall and the Symposium's Keynote Session on Tuesday morning prior to the start of the Investors Conference, along with a copy of the Investors Conference notes.
