Trend Micro U.S. Vice President of Cybersecurity Joins National Cyber Security Alliance Board of Directors
WASHINGTON, April 19, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), a non-profit public-private partnership focused on cybersecurity awareness and education for all digital citizens, today announced that Trend Micro will join the NCSA Board of Directors. Tom Kellermann, U.S. vice president of cybersecurity, will serve as Trend Micro's representative.
Trend Micro Incorporated, a global cloud security leader, builds on its relationship with NCSA, having served as an original member of the national cyber security awareness campaign STOP. THINK. CONNECT., by becoming a newly appointed board member. This furthers Trend Micro's commitment to sharing security intelligence to help protect consumers and organizations.
"Trend Micro has been a great supporter of the National Cyber Security Alliance over the years and of the STOP. THINK. CONNECT. campaign, of which they were a founding member," said Michael Kaiser, executive director of the NCSA. "We welcome Tom Kellermann to the board as an expert in technology and cybersecurity. Trend Micro has been a leader in educating the public about the ways to protect yourself, your family, and your digital assets online, evident through their dedication to the STOP. THINK. CONNECT. campaign and the array of tips, research, and industry reports they produce on cybersecurity and data protection."
"NCSA has played a critical role in the development and promotion of online safety and security for all digital citizens by forging strategic partnerships with industry leaders, promoting public awareness, and fostering best practices," said Kellermann. "I am honored to be elected to the NCSA Board, and I look forward to bringing my experience to help achieve their mission in 2012."
Kellermann joined Trend Micro in March of this year. Kellermann most recently served as Chief Technology Expert for Air Patrol, a leader in intelligent enterprise mobility solutions. He is a professor at American University's School of International Service and a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), a member of the Committee of the Financial Coalition Against Child Pornography, and co-author of the book "E-safety and Soundness: Securing Finance in a New Age."
