Treasury & Risk Names 25 Outstanding Women in Finance
NEW YORK, Feb. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --Treasury & Risk, a Summit Business Media publication, named 25 exceptional women finance executives in the February issue. Each year the editors of Treasury & Risk choose 25 women among corporate America's most outstanding financial executives who are making a difference to their companies and the economy.
"Women are underrepresented in the C-Suite overall, holding only 14% of executive positions in 2010," said Editor-in-Chief Donna Miskin. "But the fact is that even underrepresented, these women are an incredible asset to their industries. They're credited with achievements ranging from issuing debt, negotiating new credit facilities and integrating acquisitions, to de-risking a pension plan and designing a new commodity hedging facility."
The accomplishments of these 25 financial leaders serve as an inspiration and a reminder that perseverance and execution count. Read more about the identities of these women and how they're making a difference.
The February issue also includes the results of the 2011 Women in Finance survey. As part of the survey, Treasury & Risk sought to find out if the glass ceiling for women in business is the barrier it once was. Highlights of the survey include:
- 62% of women and 84% of men say finance is a great career choice for both sexes
- 83% of women see a glass ceiling in corporate America, compared with 29% of men
- 31% of executives say they find sites such as LinkedIn useful for networking
"Treasury & Risk aims to chronicle for our readers the progress of women to the C-suite and how perceptions about women's leadership roles evolve from year to year," said Miskin.
