Trayport Wins Software House of the Year 2011 from Energy Risk
LONDON and NEW YORK, June 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Trayport®, the leading provider of software to the European commodity trading community, today announced that it has won the award "Software House of the Year 2011" from Energy Risk magazine, the key trade publication for the energy industry.
"It's fantastic news that we've won this prestigious award amongst considerable competition," said Elliott Piggott, CEO, Trayport (www.trayport.com) . "Trayport continues to lead the field every year with its GlobalVision Trading Gateway(SM), GlobalVision Broker Trading System(SM) and GlobalVision Exchange Trading System(SM), but this year we've also had a major impact on the energy markets with new products including Automated Trading(SM), GlobalVision Portal(SM) and Internal Marketplace(SM). We know that our other products and many in the pipeline will also have a significant impact on changing the way energy is traded in future."
It's the twelfth year running that Energy Risk will publish and celebrate the winners of its awards. After going through hundreds of nominations the editorial board and independent advisers decided on Trayport as a winner.
Trayport's GlobalVision suite of products has experienced 40% user growth in the last year. Supporting more than 12,500 trading screens worldwide, dealing in over 3,000 different trading instruments across 20-plus countries, GlobalVision now supports around 90% of electronically traded commodities in Europe.
Stella Farrington, Editor of Energy Risk, said, "I spoke to many traders and brokers in the OTC energy markets and they said that Trayport has simply transformed the market. They couldn't imagine how the energy markets would operate without Trayport."
According to Elliott Piggott, Trayport's CEO, the company's heavy investment in 2010 is beginning to pay off this year in the healthy uptake of its new products. "We've been investing heavily not just on the core execution services for which we're best known, but in overall work flow, pre- and post-trade," he said.
This year's awards will be presented in London on 14th June at a gala dinner at the Institute of Directors.
The awards will be officially announced and published in this month's issue of Energy Risk.
