According to Travelocity's booking data, among the top 10 most popular destinations for Independence Day 2013 are Boston and Washington, D.C., cities that have played important roles in American history. South Florida rose from number six on the list last year to number four on the list this year. New to the top 10 this year is Chicago, a city in its prime during the summer season; it bumped Las Vegas out of the number 10 spot. Additional destinations include some of the nation's largest cities and popular family entertainment destinations like Orlando and Los Angeles.
