Travelers Not Deterred from Flying this Summer According to Recent Survey
CHICAGO, July 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Despite global unrest and increasing terrorist attacks in the U.S and abroad, air travel will still be strong in the coming months according to surveys conducted by GO Airport Express, a Chicago-based ground transportation service, and GO Airport Shuttle, an international transportation provider.
Of the 445 respondents, 75 percent said they had plans to travel this summer. Of those, 86 percent said that recent terror attacks will not affect their plans. Just two percent said they cancelled trips and 10 percent have not yet decided.
In the comments, a few said they will continue to travel if it is for business.
"This is great news for the travel industry and the global economy," says John McCarthy, president, GO Airport Express. "We will not let the vile acts of terrorist groups and individuals keep us from our normal travel activities, whether it's for business or vacations."
GO Airport Express, one of the oldest companies in Chicago, traces its founding to 1853 and the Parmelee Transportation Company, which provided a carriage service between Chicago's railroad stations and the downtown hotels. The GO Group LLC is the nation's largest airport transportation provider, serving more than 70 airports in North America, Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe and transporting more than 13 million passengers per year.
