Travelers Booking Private Cars More Frequently According to Recent Survey
CHICAGO, Sept. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Almost 21 percent of travelers are booking private cars to and from the airports more frequently when compared to three years ago, according to surveys conducted by GO Airport Express, a Chicago-based ground transportation service and GO Airport Shuttle, an international transportation provider.
Twenty-two percent of 490 respondents say they always (eight percent) or frequently (15 percent) book private cars. Of those who use other means of airport transportation: 38 percent say they sometimes book private cars and 38 percent reply "never." Forty-nine percent said the amount of times they book private cars has not changed over the past three years.
"Twenty percent is a significant increase and could have a major positive impact on the ground transportation business," says John McCarthy, president, GO Airport Express. "This tells us that despite the popularity of newer ride-share services, many prefer the convenience of pre-booking airport transportation provided by established companies offering safe, experienced, professionally trained drivers."
GO Airport Express, one of the oldest companies in Chicago, traces its founding to 1853 and the Parmelee Transportation Company, which provided a carriage service between Chicago's railroad stations and the downtown hotels. The GO Group LLC is the nation's largest airport transportation provider, serving more than 80 airports in North America, Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe and transporting more than 13 million passengers per year.
