Travel technology executive Yannis Karmis to lead BCD Travel product planning and development
ATLANTA, Dec. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Former Sabre, GetThere and Travelocity Business executive Yannis Karmis has joined BCD Travel in the newly created role of senior vice president, Product Planning & Development. In his new role, Karmis sets BCD Travel's vision for all aspects of new product roadmaps, including the business intelligence, traveler-facing and travel & expense management categories. His oversight includes the TripSource and DecisionSource Intelligence & Analytics suites.
Based in Dallas, Karmis will report to Russell Howell, executive vice president for Technology, Products & Innovation.

"Throughout his career, he's worked extensively with customers and commercial teams in all parts of the world."At Sabre, Karmis held the dual role of vice president for Corporate Solutions and president of GetThere—the second largest corporate booking tool in North America. At GetThere he oversaw all commercial activity, marketing and operations. In that role, he worked to develop the next generation of capabilities for GetThere, including its mobile-optimized website. He also previously served as president of Travelocity Business, now Tbiz, which BCD Travel acquired in 2013.
