Travel Advantage Network Supports Summer Safety

MILLERSVILLE, Md., June 7, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Travel Advantage Network, a vacation accommodations program, devoted charitable efforts throughout the month of May 2013 to the Connor Cares Foundation. Founded in memory of Connor Freed, a 5-year-old boy who drowned at a public swimming facility, Connor Cares Foundation works to further the education and training of personnel at public and private pools nationwide.

 Every month, a Travel Advantage Network employee or department selects a charity for the company to support and plans events to help raise funds for that cause. Fundraising activities for Connor Care Foundation included a CPR certification class for employees to increase awareness about drowning and promote lifesaving techniques, as well as a silent auction. Employees raised more than $1,700 for the Connor Cares Foundation.

"The money we raised will go towards paying for a local community pool to receive an automated external defibrillator (AED), AED training and swimming lessons for underprivileged children. Another great benefit to this charity is that we now have seven employees who are CPR certified in our office," said Aimee Wells, Team Lead – Total Vacation Services.
