Travel Advantage Network "Rocks For Sarah"

Company employees raise funds to support ailing child.

MILLERSVILLE, Md., Oct. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Travel Advantage Network, a vacation accommodations program, dedicated charitable efforts throughout the month of August to raise funds for Sarah Amodei. Sarah is a 12-year old girl from Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, who was born with multiple health defects. Upon her birth, Sarah was diagnosed with congenital scoliosis, congenital heart disease, kyphosis, spondylocostal dysostosis along with thoracic insufficiency syndrome, restricted lung disease and pulmonary hypertension. To date, she has had an astounding 23 operations, all of which have been successful and possible due to generous donations and the "Rock for Sarah" concert event. 

Every month, a Travel Advantage Network employee chooses a charity to support. This is the second year that the company has dedicated a month to Sarah thanks to Buffie Hoy, account resolution and retention specialist. "When I learned about Sarah through a friend, I immediately knew I wanted to help. Her positive outlook on life is an inspiration."

Presently in 5^th grade, Sarah continues to amaze her physicians and everyone she comes in contact with through her upbeat attitude and strength.  Sarah will continue to face more surgeries in the future; however, her doctors and family are very optimistic on her future. Hoy planned several events throughout the month of August for employees to contribute such as; lottery raffle, car wash, pay-to-wear-jeans to work day, Ravens football ticket giveaway, a bake sale and a silent auction. Over the past two years, the employees of Travel Advantage Network have raised over $3,000 for Sarah Amodei.
