Travel Advantage Network Lights The Night
Employees raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
MILLERSVILLE, Md., Dec. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Travel Advantage Network, a vacation accommodations program, devoted charitable efforts throughout the month of October to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Andrea Najarian, senior vendor sales coordinator, selected the charity which is dedicated to curing leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
"Last year, I lost my father-in-law to leukemia and saw firsthand the effects this terrible disease can have on someone. I wanted to do something to help bring awareness to these diseases and raising funds through the Travel Advantage Network monthly charity program was the perfect way," Najarian explained.
Every month, a Travel Advantage Network employee chooses a charity to support and comes up with creative activities to help raise funds for that cause. Najarian, along with fellow employee Hannah Mantooth, kept employees educated on the cause throughout the month with posters, emails and fact sheets to heighten awareness.
Over $1,500 was raised for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society with a 50/50 raffle, candy bar sales and wear-jeans-to-work days. Several employees also raised funds by putting together a team for the charity's national Light the Night Walk in Annapolis, MD.
Travel Advantage Network has been dedicated to charitable giving since its inception. In 2011, the company raised more than $12,000 for various local and national charities. For more information about Travel Advantage Network and its monthly charitable efforts, please visit PlanWithTAN.com
