Travel Advantage Network Helps Give Children a Voice
Employees raise funds for Anne Arundel County CASA volunteers
MILLERSVILLE, Md., May 2, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Travel Advantage Network, a vacation accommodations program, devoted charitable efforts throughout the month of March to the Anne Arundel County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program. CASA educates and trains volunteers who spend time with children who have been placed with the state for protection from abusive or neglected homes. The CASA volunteer program collects information and provides recommendations for the child's best interest.
Every month, a Travel Advantage Network employee or department selects a charity for the company to support and plans events for employees to participate in to help raise funds for that cause. The Travel Advantage Network B2B team of Hannah Mantooth and Andrea Najarian chose CASA for its direct impact on children in their community.
"We wanted to pick a local charity that worked with children and CASA is unique in that it is solely focused on making sure that the children have a voice when it comes to making decisions about their future," said Hannah Mantooth, B2B sales coordinator.
To raise funds, the B2B team held silent auctions which included tickets to the Baltimore Ravens Spring Football Festival, pay-to-wear jeans day and a fundraising lunch that included donations from local restaurants. The team's efforts resulted in over $1,200 collected for the Anne Arundel County CASA.
"Our fellow employees always go above and beyond to support the monthly charities and this time it was great to see how supportive the community outside of Travel Advantage Network was with food donations and support," explained Andrea Najarian, senior B2B sales coordinator.
