Travel Advantage Network Fundraising Goes to the Dogs

Employees support Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue & Sanctuary

MILLERSVILLE, Md., Nov. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Travel Advantage Network, a vacation accommodations program, dedicated its charitable fundraising efforts for the month of October to Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary. Almost Heaven is a non-profit organization that accepts senior or special needs dogs from shelters hat have been labeled "hard to adopt" by ordinary standards and from owner surrenders. 

Each month, a Travel Advantage Network employee or department selects a charity to support and plans activities to help raise funds for that cause. Jennifer Ross, Account Administration Senior Specialist, chose Almost Heaven because her family adopted their dog Sadie through the organization.  

"Almost Heaven has provided a safe haven for dogs that would typically be put down due to overcrowded shelters or because of their age. The money we raised will be used to purchase food and pay for veterinary visits for the dogs in the shelter," said Ross.

Ross held several charity events throughout the month, which included a 50/50 raffle, pay-to-wear jeans day, silent auction, Halloween decoration raffle and a bake sale with an employee bake-off challenge. In total, more than $1,000 was raised by employees to help support the Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary.
