Travel Advantage Network Assists Individuals with Disabilities
Employees raise funds for Abilities Network, a non-profit organization
MILLERSVILLE, Md., July 16, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Travel Advantage Network, a vacation accommodations program, selects a charity each month and fundraises for the chosen charity through a variety of activities. For the month of June, the company supported Abilities Network, a non-profit organization that helps disabled individuals of all ages achieve personal goals.
"Often, adults with disabilities are left unnoticed after they graduate high school because there are not a lot of programs that assist them directly," said Lexi Kowalski, Human Resources Generalist at Travel Advantage Network and the leader of this month's charity. "Abilities Network works hard to make sure these individuals have the support they need."
Throughout the month of June, employees participated in events such as jeans days and bingo games. Also, Kowalski informed co-workers about Abilities Network by passing out brochures to help raise awareness.
Many participated in the efforts to raise money for this cause. In total, over $900 was raised for Abilities Network. The money will go towards a variety of efforts to help those with disabilities including career training, personal growth and community inclusion.
