Trapper Tackle Lands Big Wins Across the U.S.
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., May 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Trapper Tackle Pro Staffer and California resident, Hunter Schlander, captures win at the California Delta Western FLW Series presented by Costa Del Mar this past weekend! A three-day total weight of 57-01 catapulted Hunter to his first big win by nearly 7 pounds.
Hunter Schlander stated, "I was using the same bait that others in the top 10 were using in the same areas I was fishing, but I had something no one else had. I teamed my square bill crankbait (a delta craw-colored Lucky Craft Silent Fat BDS) with Trapper Tackle Round Bend Treble Hooks. I never lost a fish and I had the confidence to know that every fish I hooked was coming to the net!"
Hunter Schlander, who recently started using the Trapper Tackle products, stated that his confidence increasingly grew each time he witnessed a fish being caught in practice. "I was using needle nose pliers to remove the Trapper Treble hooks each time I brought a fish catch to the net, it was a confidence booster knowing I had an edge over so many competitors."
Hunter took home over $85,000 in cash winnings including a new Ranger 519 boat powered by Evinrude.
Meanwhile, in Gadsen, Alabama, Trapper Tackle Pro Staffer, Candler McCollum, and his team partner, Mitch Mitchell, took home first place and a check for $10,000 on Neely Henry Lake on the Alabama Bass Trail, the second $10,000+ win this season. Candler and his team partner are only the second team to take home two victories in the same season, and the first team in the North division to accomplish this feat.
Candler McCollum stated, "We used a 4/0 EWG Trapper Tackle heavy hook with a Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver and a ¾ and ½ ounce tungsten weight. Trapper hooks innovative design and locking technology gives me the confidence to know I can make more presentations without re-adjusting my baits and get all those fish in the boat when the money is on the line."
Both Candler McCollum and his partner had their first win this past February on Wheeler Lake where they hammered more than 30 pounds to beat the 203-team boat field by nearly 11 pounds.
Trapper Tackle will once again be at ICAST this July and is poised once again to unveil more of their award winning innovative technology. The Round Bend Trapper Treble Hooks are set to be released into the market this late June along with the two additional treble hook designs.
