Transwestern Expands in Orange County
ELIZABETH HURLEY TO HEAD UP FULL BROKERAGE TEAM
LOS ANGELES, May 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Signaling its faith in the recovery of the office market, Transwestern has expanded its presence in Orange County, appointing Elizabeth Hurley as Managing Senior Vice President to lead the company's transactional services in the county. Hurley is partnering with West Region President George Garfield as part of the continued broadening of Transwestern's service platform. With Transwestern already the third largest manager of commercial real estate in Orange County, the addition of Hurley allows the firm to offer comprehensive lines of service in the region.
"Elizabeth joins Transwestern as Orange County commercial real estate edges into recovery," says Garfield. "This is one of the most high-profile regions in the entire country, with the potential for great gains as the economy improves. Elizabeth brings a keen strategic ability and deep client and talent relationships that will enable us to expand our enterprise in this quickly evolving market. We see her arrival as another key addition to our existing enterprise in Orange County. Her depth of experience is unprecedented and will add great value to our clients and in our recruiting efforts."
As new Managing Senior Vice President, Hurley will initially focus on the firm's agency leasing and tenant advisory service lines, while recruiting investment services and other transactional professionals to Transwestern. Hurley will also represent owners of commercial real estate properties with leasing and disposition and assist tenants with the relocation and lease-renewal process.
"I am excited to bring my diverse experience to help build a full-service brokerage in Orange County," says Hurley, a Corona del Mar resident who joins Transwestern from Cushman & Wakefield, where she specialized in office brokerage representing landlords and tenants in Orange County. "Both institutional owners and corporate clients will benefit greatly by having their premier national real estate service provider with a team of talented and proven Orange County brokers providing them the highest level of client service."
Hurley's arrival comes against the backdrop of Transwestern's strategic evolution. Over the past nine months, Transwestern hired several seasoned industry leaders to its Los Angeles and Phoenix offices and has opened a new office in New York City. Garfield also plans to expand the West Region's investment sales and development activities. A new investment management service will go beyond ground-up development to include renovation and repositioning of existing commercial and industrial assets.
"Elizabeth's knowledge and strong performance in serving her clients make her an excellent addition to our team as we continue to grow in Southern California," adds Garfield. "We are in this to build the most innovative, multi-disciplinary real estate services company alternative in the business. We place a huge priority on our people, and building our service around our clients' top real estate priorities."
Hurley will be based in Orange County. She will add supporting members of her brokerage team in the near future.
