Transportation Insight Appoints Chris Baltz CEO

HICKORY, N.C., Nov. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Nationally-recognized third-party logistics (3PL) provider Transportation Insight has announced the appointment of Chris Baltz to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer. Founder Paul Thompson will continue to provide strategic direction for the organization in his role as Chairman, in addition to handling partnerships and acquisitions.

Prior to joining Transportation Insight, Baltz held senior executive positions with Arkansas Best Corporation and its less-than-truckload (LTL) subsidiary ABF Freight System, Inc. During his 21 years with Arkansas Best, Baltz was responsible for LTL and truckload yield management and new service development, which included the startup of the international service, warehousing service and truckload brokerage divisions of the organization.

Baltz has served on the board of the National Motor Freight Traffic Association and is past chairman of the National Classification Committee. He is a graduate of the University of Arkansas where he earned a degree in industrial engineering. Baltz has previously served on the board of the Arkansas Academy of Industrial Engineers.
