TransmissionHub Launches TransForum Texas
New regional conference enables electric transmission community to discuss critical Texas industry issues.
AURORA, Colo., Feb. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- To enable the electric transmission industry in Texas to gather and discuss its most critical issues, Energy Central's TransmissionHub today announced a new conference called TransForum Texas.
TransForum Texas is the first in a new series of regional conferences that enable key decision makers in electric transmission and related communities to analyze and explore the issues impacting the future of the industry.
The conference will be devoted to interactive discussion of the issues that drive Texas electric transmission forward.
One main content theme will be lessons learned from Texas's unprecedented expansion of transmission, which has resulted from the renewables boom under the Competitive Renewable Energy Zone (CREZ) initiative. CREZ and non-CREZ case studies will explore working projects and delve into how non-CREZ projects are fairing with so many state development resources invested in the initiative.
Transmission executives will also address the industry post-CREZ and how reliability challenges, new non-renewable generation and the aging grid will drive the great Texas Transmission Rush into the next decade.
"Texas has experienced unprecedented growth and a massive investment in transmission projects," confirmed Randy Rischard, vice president of data and analysis at Energy Central. "TransForum Texas is the only opportunity in the state of Texas for industry participants to gather and discuss the meaty issues impacting our regional business. We encourage all industry decision makers to attend to help define how our business moves forward."
TransForum Texas will be held April 24-26, 2012, in San Antonio, Texas. Registration is open; early-bird discounts are available through March 16.
