TransMedia Group to Represent Tanzania-born Author Maria Nhambu Who Literally Danced Her Way to a Brilliant Career in America
BOCA RATON, Fla., Oct. 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- TransMedia Group announced its new client Maria Nhambu has literally danced her way to not just survival, but to a brilliant career in America as the author of her Dancing Soul Trilogy Memoir.
The author, who goes by her last name Nhambu, also is the creator of Aerobics With Soul®, a popular African dance fitness workout she teaches, which TransMedia said will play a lively role in its multi-faceted publicity campaign for her.
"At a time when immigration has become so divisive, our publicity will underscore its silver linings personified by this enchantingly beautiful, intelligent and accomplished woman," said TransMedia CEO Tom Madden.
"Nhambu teaches Aerobics With Soul® in Florida, Mexico and in Minnesota, where her adoptive mother lives, who is only four years older than her, which is another amazing story," said TransMedia President Adrienne Mazzone.
Nhambu was an abandoned biracial child who grew up in an African orphanage well over a half century ago in what is now Tanzania.
"Yet to see her now, you'd never know she's in her early seventies. She looks, acts and attracts like an ultra-fit, modern woman half her age, which we'll show in our videos."
"Besides a gifted writer, Nhambu is a powerful speaker with a unique voice and style, which our PR will illumine."
Readers of Africa's Child, Nhambu's poignant, beautifully written memoir (part one of Dancing Soul Trilogy), will find themselves standing in her hand-me-down shoes as ever emboldened and creative, she narrates her inspiring story.
Africa's Child (Dancing Twiga Press, 2016) includes a foreword by Marian Wright Edelman, president and founder of the Children's Defense Fund.
America's Daughter (Dancing Twiga Press, 2017), the second book in the trilogy, continues her story in the United States. Recently released, Drum Beats, Heart Beats, shown in the accompanying photograph, completes the trilogy.
Nhambu was left at an orphanage high in the Usambara Mountains of present-day Tanzania as a 'half caste' newborn until her teenage years. Then her yearning for a formal education took her to different boarding schools in Africa and later to university studies in America.
In America she became a successful teacher, author and businesswoman taking adventurous Americans on memorable safaris in her native Africa.
"Today her adventurous life continues to amaze, inspire and delight," said Mazzone.
