TransMedia Group To Dig Publicity Wells for 'A Spring of Hope' Program Providing Clean Water For South African Children
BOCA RATON, Fla., Jan. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- TransMedia Group said it will generate streams of publicity for A Spring of Hope (www.ASpringofHope.org), an international 501(c)(3) charitable foundation based in South Florida, whose vision is to improve the sustainable development of rural South African communities.
TransMedia Group (www.TransMediaGroup.com) will promote the foundation's mission to provide clean water sources to rural South African schools and help generate economic development opportunities.
A Spring of Hope (ASoH) raises the funds needed to drill water wells near underprivileged schools that are in desperate need of water. The wells, also known as boreholes, not only provide a fresh water source but also help cultivate the land so that students have gardens to grow fruits and vegetables. After drilling the wells, ASoH then works with the schools implementing methods of conserving water, organizing permaculture classes (a system of natural farming in which the gardener co-operates with nature) and updating sanitation systems at each of its partner schools.
"Our team will focus their efforts on publicizing A Spring of Hope's passion for helping South African schools achieve long term sustainability," said TransMedia's CEO, Tom Madden. "From drilling boreholes to promoting permaculture, it is clear that this foundation is bringing innovation to South Africa."
TransMedia is also assisting A Spring of Hope with their annual "The Power of Hope" gala on March 28, 2015. This event will allow ASoH sponsors the opportunity to further support the foundation's efforts. The guest of honor will be Dr. Makaziwe Mandela, the daughter of Nelson Mandela. The gala will be held at St. Andrews Country Club in Boca Raton, Florida.
"In addition, we have created a 'Drop in the Bucket' program to explain to elementary students the world water crisis and how it impacts the lives of children their age around the world," said ASoH Executive Director Joanne Young. "It also teaches them the importance of giving back."
TransMedia said that it will work with schools across the country to help implement the 'Drop in the Bucket' campaign on an even larger scale. Students will have the opportunity to not only learn about the ongoing issues South African schools face, but also see the long-term effects that their charitable acts provide.
