TransMedia Group Hires Former VP Of United States Tennis Association As Director Of Client Relations
BOCA RATON, Fla., July 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- TransMedia Group (www.transmediagroup.com) said it added two more staff positions to serve the international PR firm's expanding client roster. They include Georgiene Ruocco Laffey named Director Client Relations and Lee Zoretic, Director of PR.
Laffey joins the busy PR firm after 12 years of service to the United States Tennis Association, including as the First Vice President for USTA, Eastern Region.
She developed and implemented junior tennis programs in New Jersey, New York and CT. These grassroots programs improved rapport within the tri-state junior tennis chapters, while increasing membership and retention. She was appointed on the national level to serve USTA as chairperson, Public Relations Committee, working with organizers of the U.S. Open for three years.
Georgiene also designed and implemented a successful coaching program for the real estate industry which was sold to the national office of Coldwell Banker. The program dealt directly with the belief that self promotion was key to a realtor's individual success and that of their office. The program increased revenue and she traveled the U.S. as a trainer and received many levels of real estate sales awards.
She purchased Copper Springs Beach & Tennis Club in Gillette, New Jersey in 2002 and currently acts as a consultant for the industry. She established relationships with local community residents through participation in business chambers and sponsorships of township programs. Her club provided many children scholarships to learn how to play tennis and how to swim. She recruited talented college athletes to serve as role models for the youth of her club. Her creation of Swim and Tennis day camp for children ages 5-13 was a great success. Her motto was and still is "Give a Child a Ball and keep them out of the Mall."
Zoretic, originally from Tennessee, came to South Florida for her college career, and then leaped into the business world. She started off interning with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee, where she wrote press releases and organized essentials for events. She also interviewed a previous Little Brother, former NFL star, Blaine Bishop, which later went to publication. After college at Lynn University, she worked at Boca Greens Country Club assisting members and handling their entire marketing, PR and social media. Zoretic has a Bachelor's degree in Advertising and PR.
