The HBSA hosts its annual awards banquet to both celebrate the history and presence of the Graduate School of Business (GSB) Latino community, and honor and encourage leadership in the Latino community beyond the school. The Jerry I. Porras award commemorates the achievements of a GSB alumnus and his or her contributions to the Latino community. A committee of students, faculty, and alumni determines recipient of the award.
"I am honored to receive this recognition from my fellow Latino GSB alumni," said Frank Huerta, CEO of TransLattice, who received his MBA in 1993. "My business school education at Stanford has been instrumental throughout my professional career. I appreciate the work of the GSB Hispanic Business Students Association and its support of Latino entrepreneurs in industries around the world."
Previous recipients of the award include Mike A. Aviles, former President and CEO of Vignette Corp. in 2011, and Laura Sanchez, Managing Director of Goldman Sachs in 2010.
