"As TransLattice prepares for rapid growth across a variety of global markets, we are delighted to welcome Dr. Jerry Porras to the TransLattice board," said Frank Huerta, CEO and co-founder of TransLattice. "With his distinguished reputation and breadth of successful experience in organizational leadership and vision both in academia and the commercial sector, Dr. Porras is an exceptionally valuable addition to our board. As we launch a completely new approach to enterprise computing that intelligently distributes data and application resources, our strong leadership team will build TransLattice into a major global force in enterprise computing."
TransLattice was founded in 2007, and officially launched in August 2010. The company received $9.5M in Series A funding in 2008 from DCM, a leading early stage investment firm.
The TransLattice Application Platform combines disparate computing capabilities into one cohesive system that provides users with reliable and rapid access to information. TransLattice's unique ability to decentralize enterprise computing resources allows large applications and associated databases to be spread across inexpensive appliances and cloud instances, rather than provisioned centrally on expensive, specialized architectures.
"I am honored to serve as a member of the TransLattice board and to help shape ideas for better approaches to cloud and enterprise infrastructure," said Porras. "I am confident that TransLattice is on the right path, and has an experienced management team in place with the solid vision and experience to build a strong company for continued long-term growth and value."
Porras received his BSEE from Texas Western College, his MBA from Cornell University and his PhD from the University of California, Los Angeles. Porras has served on the boards of directors of the State Farm Automobile Insurance Company, State Farm Life Insurance Company, State Farm General Insurance Company, Quaker Fabric, and ReloAction, and is currently an advisory board member of the Decurion Corporation and a member of the Knight Commission. Among the honors he has received are the Brilliante Award from the National Society of Hispanic MBAs, the Silver Apple Award from the Stanford Business School Alumni Association and the Kanter Medal from the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology. He joined the Stanford faculty in 1972.
