Transfix Appoints Brian Christman as Vice President of People
NEW YORK, Oct. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Transfix, the technology platform that is changing the way companies manage their supply chain, today announced that it has named Brian Christman Vice President of People. Brian will be responsible for driving overall strategic growth through the development of the Transfix team and the scaling of people and workplace operations. He will report directly to co-founder and CEO Drew McElroy.
"As Transfix continues to grow, we are committed to the long-term strategic development of our team. This is why we are investing in Brian at this point in our growth," commented Drew. "Brian brings exactly the right experience to this role, having successfully developed the talent of several fast-growing technology companies that have revolutionized their respective industries. We welcome Brian to the team and look forward to his contributions as we continue to build a world-class team."
Brian joins Transfix from Etsy, where he served as Senior Vice President, People & Workplace. At Etsy, he successfully built best-in-class talent development, operations, and recruitment and retention programs that supported the company's rapid international growth across nine offices in seven countries and its transition to a publicly-traded company. Prior to joining Etsy, Christman was Vice President, HR Operations at Gilt Groupe. He has also held senior leadership positions at other industry-changing, technology oriented companies including Sirius XM Radio and DoubleClick.
"I am energized by young companies that are leveraging technology to transform their industries the way Transfix is modernizing the freight logistics industry," said Brian Christman. "I am thrilled to join the company at this important time and look forward to working hand-in-hand with the team to make Transfix the best place to work in New York City. We will be active in looking for talented technology professionals that want to join a company with a real vision for the future."
Transfix works with many of the world's largest retailers, consumer-packaged goods (CPG) brands and manufacturers to streamline and optimize full truck load shipment logistics. Transfix's platform enables shippers to amplify their existing carrier relationships with their contracted carriers and provides real-time visibility, exception management, and data analytics to facilitate informed decision making. This speeds delivery of goods while lowering costs. The company announced a $42 million Series C round led by NEA in July 2017.
Brian is based in Transfix's New York City headquarters. He holds a B.A. in Human Services from Villanova University. He lives in New Jersey with his wife and three sons.
